Sports & Activity Game Hire

Seventeen sports games under one roof - interactive football, archery arenas, basketball shootouts, crazy golf, segways, a surf simulator, racing rigs, air hockey, table tennis, pool and more. From a two-player Double Shot basketball at £175 to a 7ft commercial pool table at £650. All of it owned and maintained from our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, delivered on our own vans.

The range

We carry 17 sports and activity games from our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, all of it our own stock - bought outright, maintained in-house and sent out on our own vans. The range covers three distinct types of game. The interactive and electronic end - an Interactive Football Challenge at £345 with wireless LED targets, two interactive archery arenas at £375 to £499 with IPS scoring, a UNIS Elite arcade basketball at £495 with a 49-inch LCD backboard, a Double Shot two-player basketball at £175, an inflatable four-lane basketball shootout at £295, virtual bowling at £445, a Racing Car Simulator at £495 with twin Playseat rigs, and an Interactive Football Challenge also at £345 that's sometimes listed as Fast Feet or Elite Skills Arena. Then the active and outdoor end - a Segway Experience from £595 for two Segway X2s, a Surf Simulator at £345 on a motorised tilting base, two crazy golf courses at £349 and £495. And the table and games-room end - air hockey at £350, table tennis at £245, a football table at £295, a commercial pool table at £650, a shuffle board at £495 and a darts fun fair game at £295.

You'll see this sort of kit listed elsewhere as sports day hire, interactive sports games, corporate activity day hire, fun day games, sports simulator hire or branded sports games - it's the same idea whichever label people use. We've been hiring out exhibition and event games from Sheffield since 1999, and we own and maintain 95% of what goes out.

Types of sports game we carry

  • Interactive football and archery

The Interactive Football Challenge at £345 - also called Fast Feet or Elite Skills Arena - is a football reaction game where players kick at a wall of wireless LED targets, with three built-in game modes and a digital leaderboard. It needs a 12ft by 12ft space and a trained operator runs it for up to three hours. The two archery arenas - the full Interactive Archery Arena at £499 and the Compact version at £375 - are inflatable setups where two players fire safe foam-tipped arrows at IPS targets that light up in sequence, with electronic scoring and games lasting 30 to 60 seconds. Both need about 15ft by 15ft of floor space and work indoors and outdoors.

  • Basketball games

Three basketball options at different price points. The UNIS Elite arcade basketball at £495 is a commercial single-hoop machine by Universal Space with a 49-inch LCD backboard, electronic hoop-height adjustment for children and adults, and a fitness mode alongside the standard scoring game. The Double Shot at £175 is a two-player head-to-head unit with twin hoops and an LED scoreboard, battery powered so no cables needed, handling up to 60 players an hour. And the Inflatable Basketball Shootout at £295 is a 16ft-tall red and black inflatable with four shooting lanes, up to four players at once and around 80 players an hour - it's an outdoor game or one for a sports hall with the headroom.

  • Simulators and active experiences

The Racing Car Simulator at £495 is a pair of linked Playseat WRC rigs with Logitech force-feedback wheels and Samsung screens, so two drivers race the same track head-to-head. It comes with staff for up to three hours and the rigs can be branded for your stand. The Segway Experience from £595 gives you two Segway X2s, a trained instructor and a coned course - battery powered with no generator needed, up to 20 riders per Segway per hour, and it needs an outdoor area of at least 20m by 40m. The Surf Simulator at £345 is a motorised board on a tilting base inside a blue inflatable wave surround - the same mechanism as a rodeo bull but with a surf theme, a digital timer for leaderboards, and a trained operator who adjusts the speed to suit the rider.

  • Crazy golf and mini golf

Two nine-hole courses. The 9 Hole Crazy Golf at £349 is a portable course built from interlocking turf tiles with foam obstacles - spiral ramps, chicanes, a volcano cone - and putters in adult and child sizes. The holes slot together however the space wants them, in a line, a U-shape or spread along a path. The Mini Golf 9 Hole at £495 is the freestanding version with solid raised side walls and 3D themed obstacles - windmill, castle, loop-the-loop, zigzag blockers - each hole about 8 to 10ft long. Both come with a gazebo, feather flags and scorecards, and neither needs power.

  • Table and games-room classics

The games-room end of the range. A 7ft DynamicAir air hockey table at £350 with full-perimeter LED lighting in four colours and a brandable skirt - we've done it for GitHub and ETF Stream. A full-size Butterfly table tennis at £245, the weatherproof outdoor version on wheels, no power needed. A commercial football table at £295 with chrome steel rods and red and blue moulded players, also called a foosball table or table soccer. A 7ft commercial pool table at £650 with a slate bed, green baize and free play. A 9ft shuffle board at £495 with eight pucks and pushers, the classic pub game where you slide weighted pucks down a waxed table. And a darts fun fair game at £295, the traditional fairground side stall where three darts and a score under 20 wins.

  • Virtual bowling

The UNIS Bowl Master at £445 is a compact arcade bowling lane where you roll a real ball down a short wooden lane and the pins fall on a screen at the far end. Sensors in the lane read the speed and line of the ball, up to six players can play through together, and it's set to free play so nobody's feeding in coins. The footprint is about 3.8ft by 2.3ft with 6.2ft of height, so it fits on most exhibition stands or in a function room. We ran it on a stand at ACC Liverpool and at a corporate party at Bramall Lane.

Where they work

The range splits roughly into three setups depending on the event. The exhibition stand end - interactive football, arcade basketball, racing simulators, virtual bowling - is designed to pull footfall in competitive environments like the NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London and Manchester Central, where a leaderboard and a branded game gives your team a steady stream of visitors to talk to.

The outdoor activity end - segways, surf simulator, archery, crazy golf, the inflatable basketball shootout - suits corporate fun days, school sports days, university freshers fairs and community events where you've got a field or a car park and want something people can physically do. The segway needs an outdoor area of at least 20m by 40m, the surf simulator and archery arenas work on grass or hard standing, and the crazy golf courses can be laid out in whatever shape the space allows.

The games-room end - air hockey, table tennis, football table, pool, shuffle board - fits into hospitality corners, break-out areas, wedding receptions and office parties where you want something people can drift to between conversations. None of them need power except the air hockey, and the table tennis folds and rolls on its wheels so getting it into position is straightforward.

We're a repeat supplier for Amazon - we've run sports games at their Prime Day events and delivered to their sites across the UK on an ongoing basis. We work with Specsavers on their schools careers events, where Lucy, their Early Careers Manager, said: "The DB team have been absolutely fantastic at our recent schools careers events. Katie, Dean and Becky have been efficient, friendly and very helpful. I thoroughly recommend them."

Branding the sports games

A branded sports game reads as part of the campaign, not a piece of hire kit dropped in the corner. The basketball cabinet takes a full front wrap, the air hockey skirt carries your logo, the racing simulator screens show your branding above the action, and the interactive football display panels can be wrapped with your own artwork.

We do all of it in-house - artwork, print, application and removal - so there's no back-and-forth with a third-party printer when a deadline's coming up. We've branded an interactive basketball end to end for Rundles at their exhibition stand, wrapped the air hockey for GitHub and ETF Stream, put Densura's logo above each screen on the racing simulators, and branded prize cranes and Giant Buzz Wires for Amazon, Bishops Printers, Lenovo and Red Nose Day.

Branding costs vary by game - a printed bottom board on a tabletop unit starts at £95 (we keep it for repeat hires at no extra charge), a scoreboard top or header from £29, a full front wrap from £69. The crazy golf banner and gazebo panels take custom prints, and the shuffle board skirt and rail both carry branding at £125 and £195 respectively.

Who hires sports games

The range gets booked by a spread of different people for different reasons. Corporate event managers tend to book the interactive and simulator end - the football challenge, the racing rigs, the basketball arcade - for stand activations and team-building days, often with a leaderboard running across the afternoon. Schools and universities book the outdoor activity end - crazy golf, archery, the inflatable basketball, segways - for sports days, freshers fairs and welcome weeks.

Hull Sport Campus booked the inflatable basketball and other sports games for their events and said: "We have used DB Entertainment on a number of occasions at Hull Sport. For engagement events, family fun days and University welcome week. On all occasions they have always been prompt to set up, and a pleasure to work with throughout the event."

Community groups, councils and charities book a mix - usually the lower-cost table games and the crazy golf for fun days, with the bigger pieces for larger events. Rachel B booked the crazy golf for Shireoaks Carnival and said it was a "very professional service, super staff running the Crazy Golf on the day." Wedding receptions and office parties tend to take the games-room end - air hockey, table tennis, pool, football table - as something people drift to between conversations.

We supply the same documentation and insurance regardless of the size of the booking, and we've worked with Sheffield City Council, Doncaster Council, RMBC and a fair few schools, charities and community groups across South Yorkshire and further afield.

Where we deliver

From our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham we're five minutes from the A1, M1 and M18, which puts the major venues within reach without much lead time. We deliver sports games regularly to NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, Manchester Central, Olympia London, ACC Liverpool, Harrogate Convention Centre, Leeds First Direct Arena and SEC Glasgow, as well as across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

Closer to home, the outdoor games tend to go to Penistone Showground, Sheffield Hallam Sports Park and the Yorkshire Event Centre. The same kit works just as well at a school sports day in Sheffield, a freshers fair in Leeds or a corporate fun day in a car park in Manchester.

If you're putting together a wider event - exhibition games, arcade games, carnival stalls, staging, PA, generators, fun food or branding - we carry over 600 products across 68 categories, so the whole booking goes on one invoice with one point of contact.

Common questions

Which sports games work outdoors and which need to be indoors?

It depends on the game. The Segway Experience is outdoor only - it needs at least 20m by 40m of grass, gravel or tarmac. The inflatable basketball shootout is mainly outdoor too - it stands 16ft tall, so it needs a sports hall or open air. The surf simulator, both archery arenas and the crazy golf courses work indoors and outdoors. The Double Shot basketball is indoor or marquee only because its scoring is electronic. The table games - air hockey, table tennis, football table, pool, shuffle board - are primarily indoor but the table tennis has a weatherproof top and can sit outside for a day. If you're not sure, tell us about the site when you enquire and we'll talk it through.

Can we run a tournament or leaderboard across multiple sports games?

Yes - it's one of the better uses of the range. Most of the electronic games - the Interactive Football Challenge, the archery arenas, the UNIS Elite basketball, the racing simulators and the surf simulator - all have digital scoring or timers built in, so you can run individual leaderboards on each game or tie them into a combined sports tournament with an overall points table. We supply magnetic leaderboards for the games that don't have their own digital display, and a large digital countdown timer visible from the aisle helps tell people there's a competition running.

Which games need no power at all?

Quite a few of them. The Double Shot basketball runs on its own internal battery. The table tennis table, football table, commercial pool table, shuffle board and both crazy golf courses need no power at all - they're entirely mechanical or physical. The darts fun fair game needs no power either. That makes them useful on exhibition stands or in marquees where a trailing lead would be in the way. The rest - interactive football, archery, basketball arcade, virtual bowling, air hockey, racing simulators, surf simulator - all run from a standard 13A socket, and we can supply a generator if there's no mains nearby.

Can the sports games be branded with our company logo or campaign artwork?

Most of them can. The UNIS Elite basketball takes a full front cabinet wrap, the air hockey takes a branded skirt, the racing simulators carry your logo above each screen, the Interactive Football Challenge display panels can be wrapped, and the crazy golf banner and gazebo panels take custom prints. The shuffle board skirt and rail both carry branding at £125 and £195. The table tennis, pool table, football table and Double Shot basketball don't carry branding in the same way, though the Double Shot can have a branded leaderboard alongside. All branding is printed, applied and removed by our in-house team. There's more on our branding page.
