Inflatable Basketball Shootout

This is a tall red and black inflatable with four shooting lanes side by side, each with its own hoop numbered one to four across the top. Players stand at the front and shoot up at the rim, and the lanes slope back down so the balls roll back to you rather than someone having to keep fetching them off the floor. Up to four people can play at once, one to a lane, which is why it gets through a fair number of players in a session - around 80 an hour if there's a queue.

It stands about 16ft tall, so it's really an outdoor game, or one for a sports hall with the headroom to take it. We've hired it out for family fun days, school and university sports events, freshers fairs and corporate fun days, where a head-to-head shootout gives people a reason to stop and have a go. We've been hiring out inflatable games from our Rotherham warehouse since 1999, and this one is owned and maintained in-house.

Space, Height and Power

The footprint is about 12.5ft by 11ft and you'll want a clear 13ft by 11ft to set it up, with 16ft of height above it. Outdoors on grass or hard standing there's no problem. Indoors it needs a tall room, so a sports hall is usually fine but a function room with a normal ceiling won't take it. If you're tight on height, our digital basketball challenge does a similar job in a fraction of the space.

Like any inflatable, it needs a blower running the whole time to stay up. If your venue has mains power that's all it needs, and if there's no power where it's going we can bring a generator - just say so when you enquire and we'll put it in the quote. It comes with three basketballs, and it suits players from about five years old up to adults.

We own and maintain the unit in-house rather than subbing it out, so there's no third party between you and the kit if something needs sorting on the day. Our in-house team can print and fit your branding to the back wall and lanes, applied before the event and removed afterwards - the branding page covers how that works. If you'd rather not tie up your own people, we can put a trained attendant on it to keep scores and the queue moving.

Where We Deliver

We hire from a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the A1, M1 and M18, so most of the UK is a straightforward run. South and West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and the East Midlands are all standard, and we deliver nationwide for larger bookings. A tall outdoor game like this tends to go to showgrounds and sports parks - we've delivered to Penistone Showground and Sheffield Hallam Sports Park, among others. If you're filling a fun day it pairs naturally with our other sports games, and we can bring it all on one delivery.

We've supplied sports and fun-day events for years. Hull Sport Campus said: "We have used DB Entertainment on a number of occasions at Hull Sport. Common Questions

How many people can play at once?

Up to four at a time, one to each lane. With a queue going it gets through around 80 players an hour, so it keeps a crowd moving rather than leaving people stood waiting for a turn.

Will it fit indoors?

It stands about 16ft tall, so it needs an outdoor space or a sports hall with that much headroom. A standard function room ceiling won't clear it. If you're tight on height, our digital basketball challenge does a similar job in a much smaller footprint.

Do the balls come back to the players?

Yes. Each lane slopes back down to the front, so the balls roll back to you after a shot rather than someone having to keep collecting them off the floor.
