A 26ft Wall With Four Routes

This is a 26ft (7.9m) mobile climbing wall - the tallest in our fleet and one of the tallest mobile walls you can hire in the UK. Four faces give four routes at four different difficulty levels, so someone who has never climbed and someone who goes to a wall at the weekends can both get a worthwhile climb out of it at the same event. You'll see the same kind of kit listed elsewhere as a mobile rock climbing wall, a climbing tower or a portable rockwall - it's all the same idea.

Every face runs on an auto belay. Climbers clip in at the bottom, climb as high as they choose, let go, and the line lowers them smoothly back down to the mats. There are no ropes for anybody to manage, and nobody on your team needs climbing experience, because our crew runs the whole activity. Four climbers can be on the wall at once and throughput runs at around 60 climbers an hour, pushing 80 to 100 at peak.

At an outdoor event it does a job few stand games can: people can see it from the far side of the site, they queue for it, and they photograph each other on it. It fills the same slot as our Segway Experience - outdoor kit that people cross a site to get to.

Where the Wall Earns Its Keep

  • Brand activations and store launches

    The wall was part of the IKEA x Decathlon launch in Croydon in April 2026, carrying the brands' own campaign banners on the faces. A climbable 26ft landmark gives a retail site something visitors line up for and photograph, with the queue holding still in front of your artwork.

  • Corporate fun days

    At a company family day the wall takes adults and children on the same afternoon, and the crew handles everything from harnesses to queue management, leaving your team free to enjoy the day.

  • Community events and gala days

    Parish councils and community groups book the wall as the main attraction on a field, with the paperwork their insurer wants sent over before the day.

  • Schools, scouts and youth events

    Four difficulty levels mean a mixed group of ages can all climb something that suits them, and the auto belay lets them go as high as they fancy without an instructor on a rope.

    The wall runs after dark and the lit face pulls people across a site. We can add floodlighting for winter and evening events.

  • Showgrounds and multi-attraction sites

    Big open sites suit the wall for the same reason the brands like it - it is visible from distance and it draws a queue. Pair it with the rest of a fun day package on the same delivery.

Branded for the Campaign

In April 2026 the wall stood outside the IKEA x Decathlon launch in Croydon with Decathlon's banners on the faces and their branded barriers round the queue. It did the same job at a Decathlon in-store event the same month, travelling alongside our Branded DJ Booth. That's the sort of event the wall suits - a launch or activation where the client wants something people will walk across a car park to look at.

For your own event the wall takes a branded back panel and branded buttons, both priced on application, printed and fitted by our in-house team before the day. Our own mats and feather flags go out with it as standard. There's more on our branding service.

The Crew Runs Everything

Two trained crew come with the wall for the booked period. They put it up - about half an hour once the trailer is parked on site - run a safety briefing for every climber, fit harnesses, supervise all four lanes and pack it down afterwards. The auto belay does the catching, and the crew do everything around it, so nobody on your side needs to learn anything.

The wall needs no power, which saves running a generator line to it unless you want floodlighting for an evening session. It works on grass or hard standing, and indoors only where a venue has the headroom to clear 7.9m - which rules out most exhibition halls and rules in warehouse-style spaces.

Where It Goes

The wall is a regular on the showground and community circuit round here. Penistone Showground, Hillsborough Arena, Elsecar Heritage Centre, the Niagara Centre and the Barnsley Metrodome have all had mobile climbing walls in past packages, and bigger open sites like Newark Showground and Doncaster Racecourse suit it for the same reason - you can drive the trailer right up to where it stands.

It travels, too. We've been hiring event kit out of a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham since 1999, five minutes off the M1, M18 and A1, and the wall is one of four climbing walls we own outright - 95% of the 600-odd products we list are ours, so what turns up is kit our own team has maintained. Climbing Wall Questions

How much space and vehicle access does the wall need?

It travels on a trailer 2.8m wide and 2.8m high, so it needs vehicle access right up to the spot where it will stand - it cannot be wheeled into position through a building the way a stand game can. Once parked, it needs a flat area of grass or hard standing big enough for the wall, the cordon round the base and the queue. Send us the site details when you enquire and we'll confirm it fits.

Can the wall go indoors?

Only in a venue with the headroom to clear 7.9m - warehouse-style spaces and some sports halls. Most exhibition halls and hotel function rooms won't take it, so we plan it as outdoor kit and put the indoor stand games elsewhere on the site.

How does the auto belay work?

Each face has its own auto belay line. The climber clips in at the bottom, climbs as high as they choose, and when they let go the line lowers them smoothly back to the mats - no ropes, no instructor holding a belay, and no climbing experience needed. Our crew fits the harness and runs a safety briefing with every climber before they leave the ground.

Can the wall be branded with our artwork?

Does the wall need power?

No. The auto belays and the setup need no mains supply or generator, which makes the wall straightforward in open fields and car parks. If you want it running after dark, we can add floodlighting.
