The deckchair - also written deck chair, and it's the same striped seaside chair either way - is a folding wooden frame with a printed cotton sling. Ours are commercial, British-made chairs in a mix of stripe colours: red, blue, green and teal mainly, with some pastel and multicolour slings in the batch. We hold up to 200 of them, so a rest area or a stand lounge can be as big as your floor plan allows.

Exhibition halls are hard on feet. After a few hours walking the aisles, visitors want somewhere to sit down, and there's rarely enough of it about. A row of deck chairs on your stand gives them that, and while someone's sitting there with a coffee, your team has an easy opening for a conversation. We lay the chairs out for exhibitions and trade shows, corporate events and brand activations, and they do the same quiet job in a visitor lounge at the edge of a hall - they keep people in the space a bit longer.

They turn up at our summer bookings too: freshers fairs and campus events, corporate family days, fetes and fundraisers. They need no power and no tools, and they fold flat at the end of the day.

Your artwork instead of stripes

The cotton sling is the whole visible surface of the chair, which makes it a decent place for a message. For an activation or a campaign stand, the slings can carry your own artwork rather than the usual stripes - printing is quoted per job through our in-house branding team, since it depends on the artwork and the numbers, so mention it when you enquire and we'll include the options in your quote.

If it's straight conference-style seating you're after, our black folding chairs do that job for a few quid less. The deck chair is the one people photograph, and it's the one that makes a rest area feel like a place to linger rather than a holding pen.

The chairs need no power and nothing gets anchored down, so they can be put out in rows or groups wherever the space works best.

One booking for the chairs and the rest of the stand

The chairs are our own stock, racked at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes off the M1. We own and maintain around 95% of the kit on this site, so what arrives is our equipment rather than something passed through a third party, and we've been hiring event kit out since 1999. We deliver nationwide, and our drivers are in and out of NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, Manchester Central and Harrogate Convention Centre through the show calendar. Every hire carries £5M public liability insurance, and risk assessments are available for your organiser or venue before the event.

Deck chair questions

How many deck chairs can you supply?

We hold up to 200 chairs in our own stock, which covers most rest areas and stand lounges we're asked to fill. If your floor plan wants more than that, send us the numbers and dates and we'll see what's possible before you commit to anything.

Can the slings be printed with our branding?

The printed cotton sling can carry your own artwork instead of the usual stripes, which is a common route for brand activations and campaign stands. Printing is quoted per job through our in-house branding team because it depends on the artwork and the quantity, so mention it in your enquiry and we'll include the options in your quote.

Is there a minimum order?

There is, and it depends on where the chairs are going and whether you're hiring anything else from us at the same time. As a guide, we deliver 30 chairs or more to most of England and Wales, and smaller numbers can be collected from our warehouse in Rotherham.
