This is our gold and red throne chair, the tall carved sort you tend to see at weddings and in Santa's grottoes. The frame is finished in gold with carved lion heads on the ends of the arms, lion-paw feet, and a shield crest on both the top of the back and the front apron. The tall back panel is dark red velvet, buttoned into a diamond pattern, and the seat is padded in the same velvet.
It stands 180cm tall, so it works as a centrepiece rather than just somewhere to sit, but the footprint is small at 92cm wide and 72cm deep, so it drops into a corner or onto a stage without taking up much room. The seat sits at 56cm off the floor and the arms at 74cm.
It mostly gets hired as a photo prop. Guests sit down and someone takes a picture, and it does that job whether you have got a photo booth running alongside it or you are just letting people use their phones.
