King of the Hill Hire
A tabletop ramp game and one of our regular carnival games for corporate fun days, school events and exhibition stands. Three yellow balls sit at the player's end of a six-foot sloped surface; roll each one up the ramp and aim to land it in one of the five scoring holes at the top - two lower holes worth 25 points, two outer holes worth 50 points, and one centre-top hole worth 100 points. Give each player three rolls and compare totals; highest score wins.
The challenge is pace control. Roll with too little force and the ball stalls before reaching any hole; too much and it bounces back or skips past. The right amount is less than you'd expect, and it takes most people a few attempts to find it - which is what keeps guests coming back without needing a prize at the end. Watching someone's ball creep towards the 100-point hole and then slide back is enough to stop people passing by.
No power is required and the game is self-explanatory without a dedicated operator. The unit sits on a trestle table with a 6ft × 2.5ft footprint, and it has been a regular part of our packages at Barnsley Metrodome alongside Flap Attack and Strike Zone.
