Paragon Pro Arcade Quiz Machine by Games Warehouse

What It Is

The Paragon Pro is a freestanding touchscreen quiz and trivia kiosk made by Games Warehouse, a UK manufacturer. It's one of the most widely-installed quiz machines in the country - you have probably seen one in a pub, social club or hotel bar at some point. For hire we run it free-to-play, so there's no money in and nothing paid out; people just walk up and have a go.

The cabinet loads around 24 games through a categorised menu on the 19-inch touchscreen. The library covers pub quiz and general knowledge rounds, skill challenges, word games and TV-format titles - Deal or No Deal is one of the headline games, and there are enough categories that most people find something they are alright at. It plays solo or with a small group clustered round the screen arguing over the answers, which tends to be how it actually goes at events.

We've been hiring out exhibition and arcade games from Sheffield since 1999, and we own and maintain 95% of what we send out from our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the M1. Every hire includes £5 million public liability insurance, with risk assessments and method statements emailed to you or your venue before the event.

Why It Holds Up on a Stand

A quiz machine works differently from other arcade kit because it draws people in without them needing to know how to play. Someone spots a familiar category, taps the screen, and suddenly there are three or four people leaning in to help. That makes it useful on an exhibition stand where you want visitors to linger while your team are tied up with another conversation.

It also works well in corporate hospitality areas and at after-dinner events where people are looking for something to do between courses or during a break. The sit-down height and self-contained format mean it does not need much supervision - though we can supply a trained attendant to run it hands-free if you would rather not assign your own staff.

We have delivered this machine to exhibition venues including NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, Manchester Central and Harrogate Convention Centre, and it goes out alongside our other arcade games for full games-corner setups at office parties and awards nights.

Games

The Paragon Pro runs around 24 games across categorised menus on the touchscreen. The library includes:

  • Pub quiz and general knowledge - standard trivia rounds across sport, history, entertainment and science
  • Skill challenges - dexterity and timing games that mix reflexes with quiz content
  • Word games - anagrams, hangman-style formats and literacy-based rounds
  • TV-format titles - Deal or No Deal is the main headline, alongside other licensed formats

All hires are configured free-to-play: credits run automatically and no cash handling is involved at any point.

Branding

The cabinet carries the standard Paragon Pro livery, and the side panels can be wrapped with your own design instead - printed and applied by our in-house team, and removed after the event. It uses printed vinyl suitable for a single hire period. There is more on how it works on our branding page.

What People Say

Anais from Amazon said: "The team are amazing, attentive and quick to get things up and running. We have the best time at our events with some of the games and it makes planning events so much easier. We have used them for years here at Amazon events. Very reliable."

Common Questions

How many people can play at once?

One person taps the screen and answers the questions, but in practice it tends to attract a small group - two or three people leaning in to help, or a small crowd forming to watch and shout suggestions. The screen is angled so several people can see it at once.

What games are actually on it?

The Paragon Pro loads around 24 games across four main categories: pub quiz and general knowledge rounds, skill and dexterity challenges, word and literacy games, and TV-format titles like Deal or No Deal. The exact lineup can vary as the software is updated, but the categorised menu means players can browse and find something that suits them.

Do players need coins or tokens?

No. We configure the machine to free play for every hire, so there is nothing to feed in and nobody needs change. People just tap the screen and start playing.

Can the machine be branded for our company or event?

Yes - the side panels can be wrapped with printed vinyl bearing your company name, logo or campaign graphics. Our in-house team prints and applies the wrap, then removes it after the event. There is a small additional charge - mention it when you request a quote and we will include it.

What is the difference between this and the upright retro arcade machine?

The quiz machine is a freestanding touchscreen kiosk loaded with trivia, word games and skill challenges. The retro arcade machine is a low cocktail table with a joystick and buttons, running classic video games like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Both are set to free play and work well on exhibition stands, but they draw different crowds - the quiz machine pulls in people who want to test their knowledge, while the arcade cabinet attracts people who want to play the games they grew up with.
