Full-face gold and purple butterfly face paint on a young girl

Face Painting Hire

A professional face painter set up in their own pop-up marquee on your stand or in your event field, painting children and adults from a self-contained kit. Hire is from £349 plus VAT, staffed by our own team rather than freelancers picked up for the day. Send us the show, the dates and the theme and we'll put the right painter on it.

A self-contained stall, not a clip-on

The painter arrives with their own pop-up marquee, water, paints, brushes, sponges and chairs, and sets up on grass or hard standing, indoors or out. The marquee has clear window panels so the work is visible from outside the stall, which is half the point of booking one - a steady queue of painted faces walking round your event for the rest of the afternoon.

Two artists can paint side by side through the same marquee, which matters when a school bell goes or a department brings its cohort over at once. A single painter runs at roughly fifteen faces an hour; two painters take that past thirty, sharing the same workstation and kit.

Children's designs, and grown-up work too

The design sheet runs from full-face pieces - Spider-Man masks, butterflies and tigers, bunny rabbits, a tropical sunset with a palm tree and sailboat - down to quicker cheek art: flowers, hearts, swirls and stars. Halloween work is its own category in October - green monsters and fangs read well across a dim room.

Adults get painted too, and not only at Halloween. Festival-style glitter and swirl work around the eyes is the grown-up end of the sheet - it photographs well, lasts the evening, and takes a brand colour when a stand wants coordinated faces. Send the brand hexcodes with the enquiry and we'll match the painter's kit to the right shades.

An in-house painter with a corporate track record

We've been hiring out event entertainment from Sheffield since 1999, and the painters are on our own staff rather than freelancers picked up for the day - the same setup as our balloon modeller, and the two stalls pair up regularly when an event wants both. Christmas family days and corporate summer parties are the most common fit; October half-term is the other peak, when the design sheet skews towards skeletons and fangs.

Out of the 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes off the A1, M1 and M18, the team travels regularly to shows at NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, Manchester Central and Telford International Centre. Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop and Chesterfield are local to us and covered without a travel surcharge, with the rest of the UK quoted on the drive. Beyond face painting the warehouse stocks over 600 hire items across 68 categories, so when the painter is one part of a bigger stand plan, other kit can travel on the same delivery - get in touch and we'll put a package together.

Questions specific to this act

Do both children and adults get painted?

Yes. The design sheet runs from full-face character masks for younger children through to festival glitter and swirl work that adults tend to go for at evening events. The two women with blue-and-silver mask paint in the gallery below show what grown-ups go for when the design is built around the eyes rather than the whole face.

Can the paint match our brand or campaign colours?

Yes. Send the brand hex codes or campaign colours with the enquiry and we'll match the painter's kit to the right shades. Festival-style swirl and glitter work around the eyes is the easiest place to land a brand colour on an adult audience, and cheek-art designs take brand shapes on children.

How many faces can one painter do?

A single painter runs at roughly fifteen full faces an hour, more if the design is cheek art only. Two painters working side by side in the marquee takes that past thirty an hour, which is the right call when you've got a queue building or a department arriving at once.

Does the painter need power or a flat surface?

No power. The pop-up marquee is free-standing, the kit is self-contained, and the painter brings their own water. It sets up on grass or hard standing, indoors or out, so the same booking works on a trade show floor, a shopping centre concourse or a corporate fun day field.
