A fairground game that earns its place on a stand

The coconut shy, also written coconut shie, is the old British side-stall game. Five real whole coconuts sit on a freestanding metal target stand, and players throw wooden balls to knock one clear.

On an exhibition stand, that familiarity is useful. The red and white striped stall gives the space a clear fairground theme, while each go gives your stand team a straightforward opening to talk to the visitor. It needs no power and sets up indoors or out, so there is no extra electrical requirement to add to the stand plan.

It still does the traditional job at a fete, school event, wedding or community fun day too. Adults and children can both play, and we can quote for the coconut shy on its own or with a row of matching side stalls.

Put your own prizes behind the game

Standard hire includes novelty sweets for winners. For a trade show or brand activation, you can upgrade those to branded "swag" prizes from £1.50+VAT each. Tell us what you would like on them, how many visitors you are planning for and when the show opens, and we will include the prize run in your quote.

A trained attendant can be added for up to three hours, with longer shifts arranged around the show timetable. They run the throws and prizes while your own people stay on stand conversations. We can also discuss custom graphics for the stall front through our in-house branding team.

Exhibition delivery without another supplier to chase

We've been hiring fairground side stalls since 1999 and have more than 20 years' experience supplying exhibition games. Around 95% of the equipment on this site is ours, stored and maintained at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, so the stall, vehicle and set-up team come through one booking rather than a chain of sub-hires.

We deliver exhibition equipment nationwide and work regularly at NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London, Manchester Central and Harrogate Convention Centre. Every hire carries £5M public liability cover, and risk assessments are available on request for your organiser or venue.
