The Snow Globe Selfie Photo Pod

The pod is a walk-in inflatable snow globe with a photo booth built around it. The dome is clear vinyl on a blue snowdrift base, and the scene inside is already set: a snowman in a top hat and scarf, a red-and-white North Pole marker, snow-dusted trees and a painted backdrop of a cottage in the mountains with a deer nearby. Guests come in through the entrance tunnel, pose in the middle of the scene, and take a printed photo away with them.

The photo side runs from a touchscreen station set up alongside the dome, with camera and printer in flight cases, so guests touch to start and collect the print themselves without anyone having to work a camera for them. On an exhibition stand or a Christmas market that combination does both jobs at once: the dome is visible from a long way off and pulls visitors across the hall, and the print gives them a reason to queue. It gets called an inflatable snow globe photo booth or a human snow globe elsewhere; it's the same thing.

We own the pod outright and maintain it ourselves - we own around 95% of the kit we hire out - and it lives at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes off the M1. We've been hiring Christmas attractions out of there since 1999, and delivery, setup and paperwork are all handled by our own team.

Prints, Branding and Snow

Every print comes out in the same gold frame design, with Merry Christmas in gold script along the bottom and a message line underneath that carries your words - at Rotherham's council-run Christmas events it read "From RMBC Events Team", with the event's branding on the print too. For a trade show or a promotion that's the working end of the hire: visitors take the print home and your branding goes with it.

The dome itself can be wrapped as well. Branding is printed on vinyl transfers made for the single hire period, and we handle design, print, fitting and removal in-house. If you want the full effect we can add artificial snow that swirls inside the dome while the photos are being taken; that's an optional extra like the branding, and we'll cost either into the quote when you enquire.

In practice that's four adults or a bigger group of children per photo, and groups are cycled through to keep the queue moving. The photo station sits alongside the dome, so allow a few metres beyond the required space for the table and the people waiting.

The dome runs on a blower throughout and the print station needs power too, so a mains supply nearby helps. The inflatable is PIPA tested, and we can send the current certificate over with the risk assessment if your venue's H&S team asks for it.

The pod hires by the day or by the season. It's a natural fit for Christmas markets and shopping-centre runs that stay up for weeks, and longer installations are priced at discounted rates rather than the day rate multiplied out. We can usually discount multiple items on the same delivery - contact us for a quote.

Where It Goes

We deliver UK-wide from Rotherham, and the pod travels well - it's run in town squares, school halls and indoor venues across Yorkshire, with the prints below from a Rotherham council Christmas event. We deliver to the big exhibition venues too, including NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London and Manchester Central, and council events teams are regular customers of ours over the Christmas period.

Common Questions

What's the difference between this and the Giant Inflatable Snow Globe?

Both hires are walk-in inflatable domes. This one comes with the touchscreen photo station, camera and printer, and guests leave with a printed photo in the gold frame. The Giant Inflatable Snow Globe is hired as an attraction in its own right, with one of our supervisors running the dome and the queue for the duration. Choose this one when the print in guests' hands matters most, and the giant globe when you want a staffed centrepiece.

What does the printed photo look like?

Each print lands in a gold ornate frame with baubles, tinsel and a snow overlay, and Merry Christmas in gold script across the bottom. Underneath the greeting there's a message line you can put your own words on - the ones from our Rotherham council events read "From RMBC Events Team" - and your logo can go on the print as well. Can the pod stay up for a full Christmas season?

Yes. As well as single days we hire it for multi-week installations - Christmas markets, shopping centres and town-centre runs - and longer hires go at discounted rates rather than the day rate multiplied out. Tell us the dates and opening hours when you enquire and we'll quote for the whole run.
