The XL - our biggest truss gantry and widest branding span
What It Is
The XL is the biggest start/finish gantry we build: a freestanding metal box truss structure - an entrance arch in effect - that works as a start line, a finish line or an event entrance. Our standard build spans 9.16m and stands just over 4m tall, and the final opening, height and footprint follow the route, site and clearances you give us. There is no one fixed size - we build it to the venue.
At exhibitions it does a plain but useful job: it gives the show an entrance people can find, walk under and photograph. That might be the way into a feature area, the marker at the head of an aisle, or the structure your product launch photos get taken under. Our own crew builds and dismantles it around your move-in and breakdown times, indoors or out.
The artwork schedule gives you a 9.16m-wide top panel plus four deep leg panels, so an event name and a row of sponsor logos all stay readable from a distance. We can fit plain START or FINISH artwork, or print custom panels to the schedule below from a design you supply. Printing and fitting is done by our in-house team - there's more on our branding service.
Once your panels are printed we store them free of charge between bookings. If you run the same show annually or take the same stand concept round a circuit, the second event costs less in print and sets up faster because the artwork already exists.

Rachael Thomas hired a branded gantry for a sponsored walk in aid of the Children's Hospital Charity: "easy to book, arrived on time, set up efficiently and collected everything as soon as the event finished. This helped make the event run very smoothly."
Common Questions
How big is the standard build?
Our standard build spans 9.16m and stands just over 4m tall. The final opening, height and footprint are configured to your site - send the route width, clearances and surface and we confirm the build with your quote.
Can you brand it with our own artwork?
Yes. We can fit plain START or FINISH artwork, or print custom panels to the published schedule - two top panels at 9.16m x 1.58m and four leg panels at 3m x 1.6m. Our in-house team prints and fits the panels, and we store them free of charge between bookings.
What surfaces can it stand on?
Grass, concrete, hard standing, artificial grass and wood chip, indoors or out. The legs sit on base sleds and the ballast is confirmed for the final build and site conditions.
Can it go up around our show schedule?
Yes - the crew builds and dismantles around your move-in and breakdown times. Tell us the hall access windows when you book and we plan the build around them.

Venues We Deliver To
We build the XL at events across the UK from our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the A1, M1 and M18, with regular deliveries to the NEC Birmingham, ExCeL London and Manchester Central. For shows that repeat annually or tour between venues, your branded panels stay in storage here ready to go out again.
If you're weighing the gantry up against other ways to mark an entrance or pull footfall, trade show games and product launch games cover the rest of the kit that sits under it.
Pairs Well With
The gantry is usually one piece of a site plan. These are the pieces that most often go with it, from queue management to finish-line timing.
Send the route width, clearances, surface and your show dates and we will confirm the build, ballast and branding costs in one quote. If you want the artwork schedule pricing or free panel storage explained, mention it in your message.
